1. Information We Collect & How We Use It
Trackly is designed with privacy and user ownership at its core:
- User-Generated Data (Records, Categories & Reminders): All data you enter into the application (such as vehicle service logs, fuel entries, warranty records, bills, EMIs, and custom notes) is stored securely on your local device using high-performance encrypted local storage (Hive).
- Account Information: If you choose to sign in using Google Sign-In, we collect your primary profile information (such as your display name, email address, and unique user ID) provided by Google Firebase Authentication to manage your account status and enable optional cloud sync across devices.
- Guest Mode: You can also use Trackly as a Guest without providing an email address or creating an account. In Guest mode, all your records remain entirely local on your device.
2. Device Permissions & Biometric Security
Trackly requests specific Android permissions strictly to deliver core functionalities:
- USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT: Used solely to enable the optional in-app Biometric Lock (Fingerprint / Face Unlock) to secure your app access. Biometric authentication is handled entirely by your device’s secure hardware system. Trackly never accesses, processes, or stores your raw biometric data.
- Notifications & Alarms: Used to schedule and display local on-time reminder alerts for your upcoming bills, services, and tasks.
- Internet Access: Required to authenticate accounts via Firebase, provide cloud backup/sync for signed-in users, and serve in-app advertisements.
3. Third-Party Services & Integrations
The Application uses trusted third-party service providers that process data in accordance with their respective privacy policies:
- Google Play Services: Core Android platform functionality.
- Google Firebase (Auth, Realtime Database, Analytics, Crashlytics): Account authentication, cloud data synchronization (for authenticated users), anonymous performance analytics, and crash reporting to improve application stability.
- Google AdMob: Delivers advertisements within the free version of the application. AdMob may collect and process device identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID) to serve non-personalized or personalized ads.
4. Advertising & Opt-Out Choices
For free users, Trackly displays advertisements via Google AdMob. You can manage or opt out of personalized ads at any time through your Android device settings by navigating to:
Settings > Google > Ads > Reset Advertising ID or Delete Advertising ID.
5. Data Retention, Backup & Deletion
You have full control over your personal data:
- Local Data: You can clear all local records and reset categories at any time directly within the application settings, or by clearing the app data via Android settings.
- Cloud Data & Account Deletion: If you have created a cloud account and wish to delete your associated account and remote data from Firebase, you can submit a deletion request via our Account & Data Deletion Portal or email us at mehrafoundation@outlook.com.
6. Children’s Privacy
Trackly does not knowingly collect or solicit personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can promptly remove the information.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encrypted data transfers for cloud sync and secure local database storage.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be posted directly to this page with an updated effective date. We recommend checking this page regularly for any changes.
